The North American Comhaltas Convention comes to San Francisco in 2020!!
Yes, that's right, it has been many years since San Francisco has hosted the convention. We figured that it's time once again.
Please visit the Official CCE Convention 2020 Website for further information.
Valentine's Dance - It’s time to dust off your dancing shoes and celebrate Valentine’s day!!
February 16th is the perfect date for you to enjoy a great night of dancing and music to the hits of the Eagles, and to help support your local Cooley Keegan Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann branch as they prepare to host the 2020 North American Convention in San Francisco.
The event takes place at St Thomas More Hall from 7:30pm with live music on the night being provided by the Jesse Brewster Trio, who are effectively the acoustic wing of the much loved Marin based band, the Illegals. Indeed most of the music will be from the enigmatic Eagles group, with songs like Take It Easy, Lyin Eyes, Peaceful Easy Feeling and many more, with a sprinkling of other rock and roll classics. It promises to be a fantastic night. There will be a no host bar on the night. Doors will open from 7:30pm so come early to enjoy the fun. It just might be the perfect place to have a wonderful night with friends.
The event is a fundraiser for Cooley Keegan CCE to help them run next year’s major North American Convention, which will welcome almost 400 people to the city for a weekend of music, song, dance and Irish language. It’s an event that requires serious funding and this event hopes to provide opportunity for the wider community to support their efforts. The Branch are also hoping to raise funding from other sources. If you wish to support their efforts, please contact Josephine Brennan on email at firstname.lastname@example.org. or josephine Brogan at email@example.com.
So, save the date, Saturday February 16th, at St Thomas More Hall, 50, St Thomas More Way, San Francisco with doors opening at 7:30pm. The dancing continues until 11pm. There’s a no host bar also. All proceeds from the night go to Cooley Keegan Branch of CCE to bring the North American CCE Convention to San Francisco in April 2020.
Irish Language Classes are held weekly on Saturday at the United Irish Cultural Center. Pre-registration is required. Please contact
